"Ahhh, valentines. The second-base of third-grade." - Barney Stinson, HIMYM

In the spirit of the Valentine's Day holiday (and because I've been seeing SO many fun valentine DIYs) I decided to do another quick roundup, this time of Valentine DIYs from some of my favorite blogs. If you need some last-minute valentines, check out these cute ideas:

from top:
bang me valentine from oh happy day
fries before guys galentine from studio diy
you're golden valentine from a beautiful mess
things i like about you valentine from julep
mini zine valentine from design sponge

Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I thought I'd do a quick roundup of my five favorite quirky movie couples. Whether their love story was doomed from the moment they met or their relationship was meant to be, these couplings make me smile.

from top:
clementine + joel from eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
suzy + sam from moonrise kingdom
bob + charlotte from lost in translation
michel + patricia from breathless (a bout de souffle)
nino + amandine from amelie

If you haven't seen any of these movies, you should check them out! Lemme know what you think! And HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! XOXO

NAMASTE, Y'ALL // Remembering India...

It's been four years to the day since I first set foot in India. Wow. It feels like too much time, like there should have been a return trip by now. I've been sorting through old memorabilia and photos from that trip for the last few days, remembering all of the amazing adventures we had. This year I want to figure out ways to document and display some of my travel memorabilia in a way that isn't too cheesy or over-the-top. Those moments in India are so important to me - moments that I HOPE my children will be interested in hearing about someday, moments that remind me that I can be brave and do things out of my comfort zone. I collected some of my favorite photos from my trip and I thought I would share them here along with some beautiful words about India...

"There are some parts of the world that, once visited, get into your heart and won't go. For me, India is such a place. When I first visited, I was stunned by the richness of the land, by its lush beauty and exotic architecture, by its ability to overload the senses with the pure, concentrated intensity of its colors, smells, tastes, and sounds. It was as if all my life I had been seeing the world in black and white and, when brought face-to-face with India, experienced everything re-rendered in brilliant technicolor." - Keith Bellows, editor-in-chief of National Geographic Traveler

I hope you enjoyed my little trip down memory lane. If you want to read more about my trip (in excruciating detail), check out my travel blog posts HERE. XOXO.

MONTHLY MOODZ // February 2015

Welcome, February! - the last month left before the spring-time months! Woohoo! Don't get me wrong...I DO love winter. It just drags on for too long and every February I look extra-forward to the flowers and grass and birds and sunshine that spring brings. For this last month of winter, we're dreaming of nights snuggling by the fire and binge-watching Netflix, celebrating the myriad forms of love in our lives, and eating some damn good desserts. Here is my monthly mood board for February...

top row:

1. Looking at this painting by Claire Desjardins is creating some much-needed brightness in these gloomy days.

2. Boyfriend and I are planning on constructing a Valentine's Day sheet fort and watching our favorite love stories, like Annie Hall.

3. This month I'm gonna start practicing my handwriting! I've enrolled in a calligraphy course on Skillshare for starters but I've heard that with calligraphy it's better to take a class with an instructor than to try to teach yourself. Challenge accepted!

middle row:

4. This hair color inspiration photo of Elizabeth Olsen keeps popping up on my Pinterest and in my files, Maybe it's a hint! No, it's DEFINITELY time to get my unruly hair chopped and colored and I'm planning on something very similar to this.

5. These Floral Friendship Bracelets from Oh Joy! and Bash Please would be great for Galentine's Day or even for Mother's Day later on down the line.

6. I'm going to attempt to make this Banana Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Dulce de Leche Frosting for Valentine's Day this year. It looks intimidating but also DELICIOUS so I'll give it a whirl!

bottom row:

7. This Love Note Pad from Tokketok is so cute! That's something everyone could use a little more of - love letters! Maybe that should be on more New Year's Resolution lists...

What are YOUR monthly moodz for February? XOXO
